Scrappy
Scrappy came to SCEA in July 2014. He was one of a herd of neglected horses found in a field with moldy hay and little water. Most of this herd went to new homes but Scrappy suffered from multiple medical problems and was unwanted. He spent the first few weeks under SCEA's care in the hospital being treated for a severe parasite load, significant electrolyte imbalances, and multiple bouts of colic. He went straight to foster care and gained weight steadily. He was slowly started on a program of ground work training and progressed nicely! One of SCEA's members took him under her wing and provided him with regular doses of grooming and love. She later adopted him and he has flourished under her care.
